Singapore's foundational personal data legislation, the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), was substantively amended by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2020, which received Presidential assent on 10 November 2020 and entered into force in phases, with the majority of provisions effective 1 February 2021.
