Privacy Policy
AI Governance Institute is committed to transparency about how this site operates. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how it is used.
Effective date: July 2026
What we collect
AI Governance Institute does not require account registration. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data: pages visited, session duration, referral source, and device type. GA4 does not collect IP addresses in identifiable form. We collect email addresses only in two cases: (1) if you subscribe to our weekly newsletter via the signup form, and (2) if you contact us directly. We do not collect names or any other personal details beyond what you voluntarily provide.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) used to distinguish users and sessions for aggregate traffic reporting. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by configuring your browser to block cookies.
How we use data
Usage data is used solely to understand how the site is used and to improve content and navigation. We do not sell, rent, or share analytics data with third parties beyond Google Analytics. We do not use the data for advertising, remarketing, or any commercial purpose beyond operating this site.
Email newsletter
If you subscribe to AI Governance Weekly, your email address is stored by Buttondown, our email service provider, solely for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party for any purpose. We do not use subscriber email addresses for advertising or remarketing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, and your address will be permanently removed.
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics 4 (governed by Google's privacy policy) for traffic measurement. We use Vercel to host the site (governed by Vercel's privacy policy). We use Buttondown (governed by Buttondown's privacy policy) to send our weekly newsletter to subscribers. No other third-party tracking, advertising, or data collection services are active on this site.
Contact and corrections
If you contact us at corrections@aigovernance.com, we receive and store your email address and message content for the purpose of responding. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent. We do not share your contact information with third parties.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or a jurisdiction with similar privacy rights, you may request deletion of any personal data we hold (limited to correspondence records). Contact us at corrections@aigovernance.com with your request. Because we do not require registration, we hold no user accounts or profile data to delete.

We may update this policy when our data practices change. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
