Access Equity
Access equity in AI governance refers to ensuring that AI systems and their benefits are distributed fairly across different user groups, populations, and organizational units without discriminatory barriers. This matters because unequal access to AI capabilities can perpetuate or amplify existing inequalities in business outcomes, customer service quality, and employee opportunities. Organizations must implement governance frameworks that monitor who can use AI systems, ensure transparent allocation of resources, and address systemic biases that might limit certain groups from benefiting from AI investments.
