Agent Oversight

Agent oversight refers to the controls that let organizations monitor, direct, and intervene in AI agents, which are systems that take actions on their own, such as running transactions, editing records, or calling other software, rather than only producing text for a person to review. It matters for governance because an agent's mistakes can carry real business, legal, and financial consequences before any human sees them. Compliance and risk teams need to know who can approve or stop agent actions, what gets logged, and how a company can show regulators that a human stayed meaningfully in control.
