Anthropomorphism

Anthropomorphism in AI systems refers to the tendency of users to attribute human-like qualities, intentions, or understanding to AI tools that do not actually possess them. This matters for governance because overstating an AI system's capabilities or trustworthiness can lead organizations to rely on it for decisions it is not equipped to handle, creating compliance and liability risks. Enterprise teams need policies that ensure accurate communication about what their AI systems can and cannot do, preventing both user overconfidence and inappropriate delegation of critical business judgments to automated tools.
