Attack Surface Reduction

Attack surface reduction is the practice of shrinking the number of ways an attacker could get into a system, such as by removing unused software, closing unnecessary network access, and limiting what AI tools and agents are allowed to connect to. For enterprises deploying AI, it matters because every new model, plugin, or integration adds another entry point that a compliance or risk team may need to account for. Regulators and auditors increasingly expect documented evidence that these exposures have been deliberately narrowed rather than left open by default.
