Behavioral Controls
Behavioral controls are rules and guardrails that shape how an AI system acts once it is deployed, such as limiting which topics it will discuss, which tools it may call, or what actions it can take without human sign-off. For enterprise governance teams, they are the practical layer where policy is turned into day-to-day system conduct, and they are often the first evidence regulators and auditors ask to see. Because these controls can be bypassed by cleverly worded inputs or changed by vendor updates, they need to be documented, tested, and monitored rather than assumed to hold.
