Confidential Computing
Confidential computing is a security technology that protects data while it is being processed by encrypting it throughout its lifecycle, including during computation in memory. This approach matters for AI governance because it allows organizations to train and run machine learning models on sensitive data without exposing that data to the cloud provider, other tenants, or even internal administrators. For enterprises handling regulated information like healthcare records or financial data, confidential computing helps satisfy compliance requirements while enabling beneficial AI use cases that would otherwise be too risky.
