Endpoint Governance
Endpoint governance is the set of policies and controls that determine which AI tools, browser extensions, coding assistants, and other software can run on employee laptops and company devices, and what data they can reach. It matters for AI governance because many AI tools now install quietly on endpoints or connect directly to internal files and accounts, often without going through central IT review. Compliance and risk teams need to know which of these tools are approved, how they are monitored, and how quickly they can be blocked or removed when a security problem or regulatory concern appears.
