G-SIBs
G-SIBs stands for Global Systemically Important Banks, the large international banks that the Financial Stability Board identifies as posing risks to the global financial system if they fail. Each one faces stricter capital requirements, supervision, and resolution planning than ordinary banks. For enterprise AI governance teams, this matters because G-SIB supervisors are increasingly examining how these banks use machine learning in credit, trading, and risk models, and their vendors and third-party AI providers can inherit those expectations.
