Institute Of Internal Auditors
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is the global professional body for internal audit, the function that independently checks whether an organization's controls, risk management, and governance processes are working. Its International Professional Practices Framework sets the standards that many internal auditors follow, and its guidance increasingly addresses how audit teams should review AI systems, third-party models, and data practices. For compliance officers and risk managers, IIA material is a useful benchmark for judging whether their own internal audit function can credibly test AI controls.
