Lifecycle Oversight
Lifecycle oversight refers to the governance controls that apply to an AI system from initial design and data sourcing through deployment, monitoring, and eventual retirement. For compliance and risk teams, it matters because regulators and standards bodies increasingly expect documented accountability at every stage, not just at launch. Gaps in oversight, such as an unreviewed model update or a system left running after its original purpose ended, are a common source of audit findings and liability.
