LLM Citation Integrity
LLM citation integrity refers to whether the sources an large language model (LLM, an AI system trained on large volumes of text to generate language) cites actually exist and support the claims attributed to them. Models can produce references that look authentic but are fabricated, or that point to real documents saying something different from what the model reports. For compliance and legal teams, this matters because AI-generated research, legal briefs, regulatory submissions, and customer-facing content can carry invented authorities, creating liability, sanctions risk, and reputational harm if relied upon without verification.
