MCP Enforcement

MCP enforcement refers to the controls organizations put in place to govern how AI agents and applications connect to outside tools, data sources, and services through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI systems plug into business software. Without enforcement, an AI assistant can be granted broad access to company systems with little oversight of what it reads, changes, or sends out. For compliance and risk teams, this area covers approving which servers an AI can use, limiting its permissions, logging its actions, and blocking unvetted connections, which is increasingly central to showing regulators and auditors that AI tool access is controlled.
