Model Compromise
Model compromise refers to attacks that alter an AI model itself, such as tampering with its weights, planting hidden behaviors, or swapping in a malicious copy that looks legitimate. A compromised model can produce wrong or harmful outputs while appearing to work normally, which makes it a serious risk for any organization that downloads, fine-tunes, or deploys third-party models. For governance teams, this means model provenance, integrity checks, and vendor due diligence are no longer optional parts of AI procurement.
