A model inventory is a centralized registry that documents all machine learning and AI models deployed or in development across an organization, including their purposes, owners, versions, and technical specifications. For enterprise AI governance, maintaining an accurate model inventory is critical for managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations like AI Act and GDPR, and enabling effective monitoring and updates across the entire AI lifecycle.
