Pre-Deployment Governance
Pre-deployment governance refers to the review, testing, and approval steps an organization completes before an AI system goes live. These steps typically include risk assessments, documented evaluation of accuracy and bias, legal and privacy sign-off, and a formal decision by an accountable owner about whether the system is fit for its intended use. For compliance and risk leaders, this stage is where most avoidable harms can still be caught cheaply, and where regulators increasingly expect to see written evidence that the checks happened.
