Procurement Integrity

Procurement integrity refers to the assurance that AI tools, models, datasets, and vendor services an organization buys are what the vendor claims they are, and that the buying process itself is free of conflicts, shortcuts, or hidden risks. For AI governance teams, it matters because a model or component acquired without proper vetting can carry undisclosed training data problems, security flaws, or license restrictions that surface only after deployment. Strong procurement controls, such as contract clauses requiring model documentation, audit rights, and disclosure of subcontracted components, give compliance and legal teams a way to hold vendors accountable before risk is locked in.
