Sovereign AI

Sovereign AI refers to artificial intelligence systems developed, owned, and controlled entirely within a country's borders, with no reliance on foreign cloud infrastructure, data centers, or technology providers. For enterprises and governments, this matters because it addresses national security concerns, data residency requirements, and the desire to reduce dependence on foreign tech companies for critical capabilities. Regulators in the EU, China, and other regions increasingly expect or mandate sovereign AI as part of broader strategies to protect sensitive data and maintain technological independence.
