Third-Party AI Vendors
Third-party AI vendors are outside companies that supply artificial intelligence models, tools, or services that an organization uses but does not build or fully control itself. Because the organization depends on these vendors for data handling, model behavior, and uptime, it remains accountable for their risks under regulations such as the EU AI Act and under its own contracts and customer commitments. Governance teams need to assess these vendors' security practices, training data policies, and incident disclosure terms before adoption and monitor them throughout the relationship.
