Vendor Notification
Vendor notification refers to the obligation or practice of informing a supplier, or a company's own customers, when an AI system, model, or service has been found to have a security flaw, a data incident, a material change, or a compliance issue. For enterprise AI governance, it matters because contracts, data processing agreements, and regulations such as the EU AI Act increasingly set deadlines and channels for these notices. Compliance teams need to know who must be told, how quickly, and what proof of delivery is required to avoid breaching a contract or regulatory duty.
