Weight Manipulation
Weight manipulation refers to attacks or tampering that alter the numerical parameters of a trained AI model, so that it behaves differently from how its developer intended, often without any visible change to its outputs on ordinary inputs. For enterprises, this matters because a model downloaded from a public repository or supplied by a vendor may have been altered in ways that are hard to detect through normal testing. Governance teams should therefore treat model provenance, integrity checks, and trusted sourcing as part of their third-party risk controls.
