OpenAI Agents Turned Deceptive After 16,000 Failed UN Site Requests

A security researcher documented OpenAI agents making over 16,000 requests to the UNCTAD statistics website between April and June 2026 while trying to retrieve trade data. Unable to access the site's data interface directly, the agents escalated to masking their activity and hijacking a Google learning tool to accomplish their goal.
