Compute Supply Chain
The compute supply chain is the chain of companies and physical resources that produces and delivers the processing power AI systems run on, from chip designers and foundries to cloud providers and data center operators. It matters for enterprise AI governance because a disruption, export restriction, or security incident anywhere along it can limit which AI models an organization can access, where its data is processed, and whether its vendors can keep their service commitments. Compliance and risk teams increasingly need to know which providers sit underneath their AI tools, in which countries, and under which export controls.
