AI Infrastructure
AI infrastructure refers to the physical and software foundations that train and run AI systems, including data centers, specialized chips, cloud computing platforms, networking, and the software that manages them. For governance teams, it matters because decisions about where and how these systems run shape data residency, vendor concentration risk, energy and sustainability reporting, and who is accountable when a provider's system fails or changes. Regulators and auditors increasingly ask companies to document this supply chain, so knowing which infrastructure a given AI tool depends on is now a basic part of due diligence.
