Consumer AI Policy

Consumer AI policy covers the rules, laws, and company terms that govern AI products used by individual members of the public, such as chatbots, image generators, and AI features built into phone apps and search engines. It matters for enterprise governance because employees often use these tools on personal accounts for work tasks, which can expose company data and create liability the organization never approved. Shifts in consumer rules, from data retention and training-data opt-outs to age restrictions and disclosure requirements, can also change what a vendor is allowed to do with the information a business or its staff feed into these products.
