CVE

CVE stands for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, a public catalog of publicly disclosed security flaws in software and hardware. Each flaw receives a unique identifier (such as CVE-2024-12345) that security teams, vendors, and regulators use to refer to the same problem across tools and reports. For AI governance, CVE entries matter because they tell risk managers which AI platforms, libraries, and model-serving tools in their stack have known weaknesses that need patching or compensating controls.
