Patch Governance
Patch governance refers to the policies, approval workflows, and accountability structures that determine how an organization identifies, tests, approves, and deploys updates to software and AI systems. For AI deployments, it covers not only security fixes but also changes to models, prompts, and third-party components, each of which can alter system behavior in ways that create legal, safety, or compliance exposure. Strong patch governance gives compliance and risk teams a documented record of who approved each change, when it went live, and what was tested beforehand.
