Data Access Controls

Data access controls are technical and policy measures that limit who can view, use, or modify sensitive information within an AI system or organization. For enterprises, these controls are essential to compliance because they prevent unauthorized employees, contractors, or systems from accessing training data, model outputs, or personal information that regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation or California Consumer Privacy Act restrict. Weak access controls create compliance gaps that can result in fines, customer breach notifications, and legal liability if confidential or personal data leaks.
