Deepfake Impersonation
Deepfake impersonation refers to the use of AI-generated audio, video, or images to convincingly pose as a real person, such as an executive, customer, or regulator. For enterprises, this threat has moved beyond novelty: attackers have used cloned voices and fabricated video calls to authorize fraudulent wire transfers and extract sensitive data from employees. Compliance and risk teams need to account for it in fraud controls, identity verification procedures, and staff training, since traditional tests like recognizing a familiar voice no longer reliably confirm identity.
