Generative AI Training Data
Generative AI training data is the large collection of text, images, code, audio, and other content used to teach a generative model how to produce new output. For enterprises, the source and licensing of that data matter because it can expose a company to copyright claims, privacy violations, and disputes over whether a model was built on material its owner never agreed to share. Regulators are increasingly requiring developers to disclose what training data they used, so compliance teams need to track where the AI tools they buy or deploy came from.
