Risk Committee
A risk committee is a board-level or executive body that oversees an organization's enterprise risk, including the risks created by deploying AI systems. In AI governance, these committees typically approve risk appetite for AI use, review high-impact model deployments, and receive reports on incidents, regulatory exposure, and third-party AI vendor risk. Their decisions set who is accountable when an AI system causes harm, which makes their composition and charter a frequent subject of regulatory guidance and audit scrutiny.
