Vulnerability Scanning
Vulnerability scanning is the automated process of checking software, systems, and networks for known security weaknesses, such as outdated components or misconfigured settings that attackers could exploit. In AI governance, it matters because AI systems rely on large stacks of third-party libraries, model-serving tools, and cloud services, any of which can carry flaws that expose sensitive data or allow unauthorized access. Regulators and auditors increasingly expect organizations to run scans regularly and document the findings and fixes, so scanning results often become part of compliance evidence.
