Worker Surveillance

Worker surveillance refers to the use of AI and monitoring tools to track employee activity, such as keystrokes, screen captures, location, productivity scores, or sentiment in communications. For enterprises, it creates legal exposure under employment, privacy, and data protection laws, which often require notice, consent, or limits on how monitoring data is collected and used. Regulators and labor groups increasingly scrutinize these tools, so compliance teams need to assess what is monitored, how decisions are made from the data, and whether affected workers have meaningful recourse.
