Autonomous Behavior
Autonomous behavior refers to AI systems that pursue goals, make decisions, and take actions over multiple steps with little or no human approval at each stage. This matters for enterprise governance because such systems can execute transactions, modify records, or contact customers before anyone reviews what they did. Compliance teams need to define where human sign-off is required, how actions are logged, and who is accountable when an agent acts outside its intended scope.
