Linux Kernel
The Linux kernel is the core operating system software that runs most of the world's servers, cloud infrastructure, and many of the devices that AI systems depend on, so its security and licensing status flow directly into enterprise AI deployments. Vulnerabilities in the kernel can let an attacker escape the isolation that keeps one workload separate from another, which matters when AI models and sensitive training data share a host with other tenants. For governance teams, kernel patch cadence, vendor support windows, and the open-source license terms that govern the code are routine items in supplier risk reviews and audit evidence.
