Recall Obligations
Recall obligations are legal duties that require a company to withdraw a product from the market, or call it back from customers, when it turns out to be unsafe, non-compliant, or otherwise defective. For AI systems, this can mean pulling a model, feature, or automated decision tool that causes harm or fails a regulator's requirements, and regimes such as the EU AI Act set out when and how that must happen. For enterprise governance and compliance teams, these duties mean they need to be able to identify affected deployments quickly, notify the right parties, and remove or disable the system without delay.
