Safety Controls

Safety controls are the technical and procedural measures an organization puts in place to keep an AI system from producing harmful, unlawful, or off-policy outputs or actions. Examples include content filters, refusal behaviors, human approval steps before high-stakes decisions, and monitoring that flags unusual model behavior. For compliance and risk teams, these controls are the evidence regulators and auditors look for when asking whether an AI deployment was designed and operated responsibly.
