Smart Glasses
Smart glasses are wearable devices with built-in cameras, displays, and computing capabilities that let employees see information overlaid on their physical surroundings and record video of their work environment. From a governance perspective, they create novel compliance risks around employee privacy, data retention, and accidental recording of confidential information or third-party data. Organizations deploying smart glasses in offices or client sites must establish clear policies on when recording is permitted, how footage is stored and deleted, and whether consent from colleagues or visitors is required.
