AI Legislation
AI legislation refers to laws and binding rules enacted by governments that set obligations for how artificial intelligence systems are developed, sold, and used. Examples include the European Union's AI Act, which sorts AI uses by risk level and imposes duties on providers and deployers, and a growing set of state and national laws in the United States and elsewhere. For enterprise compliance teams, these laws create concrete deadlines, documentation requirements, and penalties that apply whether a company builds its own models or simply buys AI tools from vendors.
