Misconfiguration

Misconfiguration refers to security weaknesses that arise when an AI system, cloud service, or related tool is set up incorrectly, such as leaving access controls open, exposing an administrative interface to the internet, or using default passwords. In AI deployments these errors are common because systems are often connected to sensitive data and third-party services in complex ways that are easy to get wrong. For enterprise governance teams, misconfigurations are a frequent and preventable source of data exposure, so they belong in regular configuration reviews and audit scopes.
